TRANSPORT ACCIDENT AND INCIDENT INVESTIGATION BUREAU!!!

On January 1, 2006 was established Aircraft Accident and Incident Investigation Bureau of the Republic of Latvia (AAIIB). AAIIB is implementing state administration in the field of aircraft accident and incident investigation. From April 1 AAIIB investigates also serious railway accidents and railway accidents. From July 1st 2007 Aircraft Accident and Incident Investigation Bureau changed the name and now is Transport Accident and Incident Investigation Bureau (TAIIB). TAIIB is an institution of direct administration under supervision of the Minister of Transport.

The main purpose of TAIIB is to conduct aircraft accident and incident and also railway accident technical investigation. The sole purpose of the investigation is the prevention of aircraft accidents and incidents and also railway accidents therefore the improvement of aviation and railway safety. It is not to apportion blame or liability.
